Hello,

Sorry to hear you're having an issue with the CB. We have found that 99% of the time, it's something with the PC or the settings, so we've included some troubleshooting steps below for you to try. Theses examples are from Windows 10 and should be the same on Windows 11. We test the device twice before it is shipped out. Once when it's initially wired and once upon the final completion of the device and it then goes into a shipping box.

If you've tried the steps below, just move onto the next one.

Right click the speaker in the bottom right of the task bar and select 'Sounds'

Select Sounds
Select Sounds

Go to the 'Recording Tab' and select your 3.5mm audio mic jack (names vary per PC and hardware). If you press and release the CB mic button, the green bars should jump if there is enough volume set by default. Though it may not until you turn the levels up.

Select your 3.5mm input

Double click the mic and then go to the 'Levels' tab. Here, you want to make sure it's not muted (speaker will have a red slash through it) and that the volume is turned up. Some have to add a mic boost. Be careful though, too much boost will sound horrible!

Adjust volumes and boost here. Ensure the mic icon doesn't show it's muted.

Click ok and you'll be back on the 'Recording Tab'. Now, key up the mic and talk into it. Those vertical bars on the right should jump up and down in green as you are talking. This is showing some type of sound/input is coming from the mic. If you have that, try testing your voice in some program where you can either record or at least hear yourself by testing your mic. Discord and TeamSpeak has these options when setting up the mics. You'll want to do this to make sure your levels are ok. Again, every PC volume levels differ based on hardware. You may need +20 dB or maybe none at all.

Being a CB mic, you should be able to hear yourself clearly. If you hear a slight white noise in the background, this can be normal. It's a real CB mic and you won't get studio quality from it. It can be affected by electronics around it like power supplies, LED lights, etc. You'll also hear a bump noise when you key up the mic and let off the button. This is the mic itself opening via the button. It's slight and quick, but it's there.

  • If plugged into the rear jack, try the front jack on your tower or vice versa. It's amazing how many people discover one of their jacks don't work and we've had a couple where their jacks don't work at all no matter what mic they plug into it.

  • Do you have another headset/mic plugged into one of your 3.5mm jacks? If so, the computer can only use one of those devices. The front and rear jack don't work as two separate devices. When you initially double click your mic as noted above, it will show you what jack it's plugged into by saying Front Panel or Rear Panel Jack

  • Do you have another 3.5mm mic to test with your PC? If so, plug it in and make sure your jacks are at least working.

  • If you have another PC, try plugging your device into it and trying out the mic there. You may have to adjust levels, but it should verify whether it's an issue with your PC or our device.

  • It is possible something came loose during shipment. Our packages aren't always handled with the utmost care, though rarely happens, it has happened in the past.

  • If you find that neither of your 3.5mm jacks are working, you can purchase an inexpensive USB audio adapter that will take the 3.5mm jack and turn it into a USB mic. With the few customers that discovered their jacks just don't work at all, they've reported that this USB device remedied their issue. You can find that here - https://amzn.to/3wVmmfd

Please make sure you try all of these steps to verify it's not an issue with your PC. We've had customers send their device back and it works totally fine on our system and they then discover their jacks aren't working. If you try everything out that we listed above and it's still not working, please let us know and we'll go from there. Any issues in the first 30 days are on us. You have a 1 year parts and labor warranty from the shipment date to where you would only have to pay the shipping back and forth after those 30 days and we'll take care of any issues. Email us at support@evolpcgaming.com or open a support ticket here

Please let us know the outcome and we'll go from there. Thank you for your business.
